My name is Joy Bezaleel Ugo, I am talented voice actor with 4 years of experience, dedicated to showcasing exceptional voice-over and acting skills. I am Nigerian- Canadian, I spent the first 16 years of my life inNigeria before I moved to a small island in the Caribbean, St. Vincent and the Grenadine. At the age of 18, I then came to Canada and have been here ever since. My love for exploration has contributed to my repertoire of accents and characters.

Physical and Voice characteristics
I’m 5’1”, 132lb, with dark brown eyes, a natural Afro, and a voice that can stretch from warm and grounded to animated, raspy, nasal, high pitched and bold. I speak English fluently and can perform a range of accents including General American, Nigerian, Caribbean, British, and General African. My voice over artistry is not limited to age or gender. I’m also a singer (alto), a licensed driver. My background as a certified teacher and a BA in Psychology helps me connect with characters quickly and play them with intention and heart.
Training
My journey began with a year-long intensive Screen Acting Program led by Mike Migliara at the Screen Acting Academy, where I honed on-camera technique, scene study, and character development. To deepen my expertise in voiceover, I’ve completed over 100+ hours of voiceover trainig, including animation VO intensives with Laura Lopez and Dawn Hershey, as well as commercial and character voice work with Helene Rousse and Kim Hurdon. My most recent training includes an on-camera and voiceover intensive with renowned casting director Barry Shapiro, sharpening my ability to deliver nuanced performances both behind the mic and on screen.
Experienece
My professional credits, include narrator roles in commercial campaigns for Alibaba, Western Union, and Nicole Bedford Films, and silent on-camera work for Hotel Casino Lac Leamy. On screen, I’ve taken on leading roles in short film productions like Hearts and Havoc and appeared as a guest star in a scripted talk show. My voice lends itself naturally to a range of characters and styles—whether grounding a campaign with clarity and warmth, or bringing animated roles to life with versatility and personality.
